BAlong with the ever-increasing technology development, many innovations continue to exist, including one of technological innovations, submarine cable. The submarine cable itself is one of the important infrastructures in providing better connectivity and connecting various regions around the world. In this edition of Biznet Inspire, we will provide you with some explanations about what submarine cable is, including how important this innovation is for the Internet connection speeds in the world.

The Internet has become a generator of major changes in people’s lives that go along with innovation and technology advancements to make activities easier, practical and more efficient. In one second submarine cables can transmit hundreds of hours of High-Definition (HD)
movie data, much faster than satellites that can only transmit the same data but only 30
minutes in duration.

About 97 percent of data is transferred through submarine cables, not satellites, and all because
of a technology called Optical Fiber, which is inside the cable that allows the data to flow with the
speed of light and makes the connection seamless.

can allow people from all over the world to quickly access information even in remote places.

PERIKLINDO Electric Vehicle Show 2024
Electric vehicle exhibition held at JIExpo Kemayoran on April 30 – 5 May 2024. Participated by industry players, manufacturers, distributors, as well as a variety of informative Seminar and Talkshow programs, which provide a more detailed overview of the latest developments in the electric vehicle industry, and also encourage wider adoption from the people of Indonesia. Biznet also participated in this event with the best Internet connection that can be accessed for free by all visitors to make digital activities smoother.

The event themed “Connecting Business” brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and business enthusiasts to explore limitless business opportunities. It was held at JIEXpo on 10 – 15 May 2024 and Biznet participated in the event to ensure its smooth running by sponsoring internet connection for the event committee, selling internet connection to booths from various brands/vendors, as well as providing free WiFi Hotspot access in Biznet booth area for the visitors.
PREP Concert
The British band held a concert on May 11, 2024, the event took place at Tennis Indoor Senayan. This year’s PREP concert brought a different experience to fans with the concept of songs, stage, and lighting. And Biznet was present at the event to support the event Biznet as the Official Internet Provider ensured the event ran smoothly with the best Internet connection. Important for World’s Connectivity?
In the current digital era, the Internet is the most important thing that has become a primary need in everyone’s life. And to get reliable Internet, it certainly must be supported by reliable infrastructure, one of which is submarine cables. This advanced infrastructure is an important aspect in maintaining Internet connectivity, so that people around the world can be connected to the best Internet connection that can support daily digital activities. And here are some explanations on the importance of submarine cable infrastructure.
1. The World Internet Access
Most of the world’s Internet connection traffic passes through the submarine cables, where this infrastructure delivers fast and reliable internet access to various regions, so that people from all over the world can access any information faster.
2. Inter-State Communication
Submarine cable can connect various countries around the world, and is infrastructure that allows the exchange of data, voice and video quickly and efficiently to various parts of the world and become a more reliable communications network since it has backup lines and bigger capacity. This can reduce the risk of communication disruptions that can occur due to natural disasters or cyber attacks.

Biznet Launches The First Submarine Cable, Biznet Nusantara Cable System-1
As Biznet’s initiative to provide equal Internet access across Indonesia, in June 2024, Biznet launches its first submarine cable network, Biznet Nusantara Cable System-1 (BNCS-1), that connects networks between Java, Sumatra and Bangka Islands for approximately 100 KM.
BNCS-1 network consists of 24 pairs (48 cores) of Fiber Optic using the latest Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology. Each 1 pair (2 cores) of Fiber Optic cable can transmit data of 96 x 100 Gbps = 9.6 Tbps. It means that with 24 pairs, BNCS-1 network has a total capacity of 24 x 9.6 Tbps = 230.4 Tbps.
The development of BNCS-1 is also accompanied by Biznet’s network expansion to more areas in Indonesia, with the hope of providing a solution in connecting the Biznet Fiber network between islands, so that more people in Indonesia can be connected with faster and more reliable Internet services from Biznet.
