Therefore, the hybrid concept is expected to achieve a balance between offline, online and also technological advances in various activities. The first hybrid concept is hybrid learning, which is a learning method that combines online learning and face-to-face learning. With this concept, the learning process can be done in the classroom or virtually, commonly known as online learning. Moreover, hybrid learning is also known as blended learning, where the offline and online concepts complement each other by taking the advantages and eliminating the disadvantages of each concept or method.
Hybrid Working
The second hybrid concept is hybrid working that combines work activities in two dimensions, which are working in an office and working from home or other locations. So, every company that has implemented the hybrid concept will give every employee a choice to work anywhere the employee wants and not be fixated on the working hours. However, the company can also schedule each employee to keep coming to the office for some activities that employees need to do at the office.
Hybrid Event
Similar with other hybrid activities, hybrid event is also a combination of two methods in one event, which are held virtually or online, and offline that still apply the applicable regulations. Every visitor can attend the online event, where the event is also held offline, so the visitors are divided into two methods. Therefore, this hybrid event concept is expected to be a solution for event organizers to hold events in the midst of current conditions.

The Covid-19 pandemic, which is still ongoing until 2022, has changed various aspects of our lives, including the education aspects. Currently, there is a new concept in the education sector in Indonesia, namely Hybrid Learning. This new concept is a learning method that combines online learning with face-to-face learning (PTM). So that in practice, there are times when students and teachers meet face to face in class, and sometimes it is done remotely online. However in fact, the implementation of hybrid learning during the pandemic cannot be separated from its advantages and disadvantages. Then, what are the plus minus of hybrid learning?
Advantages of Hybrid Learning:
- Give opportunities to socialize. The online learning concept turns out to have an impact on causing stress among the students, so this hybrid learning concept can be a solution to reduce student’s boredom by occasionally interacting face-to-face with their friends.
- Encourage the use of technology in the education sector. In the implementation of the hybrid learning method, it certainly requires a reliable Internet connection. Therefore, the use of the Internet can encourage learning activities that are oriented towards the use of technology..
- Students’ understanding of learning materials is getting better. With hybrid learning, where students can meet the teacher directly, they have the opportunity to understand the learning material better since the students can ask questions directly to the teacher, so it can be easier to understand.
Disadvantages of Hybrid Learning:
- Parents are demanded to play a more active role. The hybrid learning method requires parents to focus more on paying extra attention to their children, because they will study with two different learning methods.
- The potential for the spread of Covid-19 is higher. Because this hybrid learning method brings together a group of people at the same time and place, the virus potentially spreads in the midst of face-to-face teaching and learning activities. Therefore, make sure students and teachers always apply the health protocols.
- On the other hand, in fact, the adaptation to hybrid learning gives some difficulties for teachers in determining learning methods, which potentially continue to change according to situations and conditions that occur. Moreover, all parties must be able to adapt to this learning method changes so that the learning process remains effective as expected.
